Dear Readers, Aliens and Creatures! Today I have the review for book 2 of the Bone Witch Trilogy – ‘The Heart Forger’. Yay!
▪️BASICS:
Official title: The Heart Forger
My title: Black. Silver. Grey.
Author: Rin Chupeco @rinchupeco
Fav character: Azi
Type: Book – The Bone Witch Trilogy
4.3/5
▪️INTRO:
We are back with book 2 of – #thebonewitch – things are more convoluted that we previously thought and they are spiraling. (I need this trilogy as physical books 🖤). This is not a straightforward right or wrong book, AT ALL.
▪️REVIEW:
Tea has decided to invade Danooris (too lazy to check spelling) because the place holds blighted people and evil in its firmaments. The bard continues to tag along as Tea raises an army and a lover to complete her suicidal mission. – This you knew from book 1, so calm down. 😁
Tea has set out on a mission to save Mykkie from a failing life due to a missing heartglass. While we hear of her story through her voice, we follow the bard as he interacts with Tea, now 17-yro and in exile, although not for long.
Now amassing an army of daeva and the dead to go on a necesaary rampage to right wrongs and to save friends who are still living, she begins her trek to the lands that have done harm. She will confront her past in the form of friends, family and mentors who are desperate to stop the movements of the dark asha for the crimes of treason, murder, theft and various other random things she apparently should not be blamed for.
She will not succeed. She will not fail. The duality of this book is very engaging. It remainds us that the best laid plans may fail and we should always be prepared to be unprepared for eventualities – yes, you read correctly.
▪️CONCLUSION:
RANDOM NOTE: In my view, these books are in essence about single-mindedness and bizarre obsession.
☀️ I am very excited to complete this trilogy, but I am reading books in between because I want to prolong the drama.
Over to you! How did you like the first two books in this series?
