In this almost Beauty and the Beast-Esque retelling, a 18 year old seamstress girl – Valera – CHOOSES to leave her home and be taken by the fae after she has given her name, been followed, told to stay in the house for the night AND believes herself tricked concerning her sister. She arrives at a castle to the home of the appealing fae, horns having, bridegroom, where she is catered too, indulged and informed about a curse and provided with some clues.
She is told she can roam the castle at her leisure and that she basically has a lady maid tree lady and goblins, who roam about naked 💁. In roaming, she notices some weird happenings and deduces the presence of a curse. She is troubled, scared, concerned, terrified, frustrated, sewing, annoyed… etc, but is she curse solving competent, no. So the author gives up on her. 🙈
When her 7 years younger sister promises to find her and she spots her again… Vali will not make the best or most intelligent of choices. She will not consider putting the pieces together but will simply choose to be a jackass. 😒
DISAPPOOOINTTTMMMEEENNTTTT
Unfortunately for Erolas, while he chose someone with magic, she also chose an idiot. A female with NOOOOOO common sense. Weak. Pathetic. 🤦♀️ What a waste. I had hopes she could be saved… alas… here we stand. Crying, screaming, pouting, ‘in terror’, stamping her feet, fainting… yeah, yep… A waste. She is a waste.
This girl is presented with a mystery, a delicious one to put her mind to, save people and return to her family… but does she do this?! Nope. She’s too dull, instead she will whine, cry, feel terror, run from shadows, moan and bemoan her choices and bring the whole castle tumbling down. AND NOT IN A TRIUMPHANT MANNER! Oh no, she’ll need to be lifted a whisked away even through her idiotic choices…
